What is Sandblasting?

Sandblasting is a surface finishing process that utilizes abrasive particles under high pressure against a surface. As the sand particles hit the surface, they create a smooth and even texture, by removing the unwanted existing layer.

The setup usually consists of three main components: the abrasive, an air compressor, and a blaster. Okanagan Mobile Sandblasting uses an Atlas Copco XAVS 375 air compressor, capable of delivering an impressive 225 psi of pressure, and is powered by the ever-reliable John Deere engine. The EcoQuip 2 EQs Elite system, makes easy work of any blasting job, utilizing a mixture of sand and water, to keep the dust down on any mobile site. This setup is delivered to you on an Am General military heavy duty truck, capable of reaching a mobile site in any terrain.

What Is Vapour Blasting?
Vapour blasting accomplishes the exact same results as the more traditional Sandblasting. The difference is in the dust cloud created by traditional blasting methods. In an increasingly environmentally conscious world, we are dedicated to doing our part. At Okanagan Mobile Sandblasting, we incorporate water into our blast media, ensuring there is no dust when blasting.
What Abrasives Do You Use?
Different abrasives exist for different surfaces. Regardless of the project, whether it requires a soft round abrasive, or an aggressive one, Okanagan Mobile Sandblasting only uses environmentally friendly media.
Will It Warp Metal?
Vapour blasting does not cause warping in metal, as friction and heat are drastically reduced due to the added water in the abrasive mixture.
Is The Media Cleaned Up After Completion?
Our goal is to have your home or site looking better than when we arrived. All media is swept up and disposed of upon project completion.
